For how to install a USB driver in Windows XP, refer to the following procedure.
(1) Connect a personal computer and a programmable controller CPU with a USB cable,
and power on the programmable controller CPU.
(2) When the 'Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard' window is displayed, select 'Install from a list or
specific location (Advanced)' and click the Next button.
[When the 'Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard' window is not displayed]
Select [System Properties] -> [Hardware] -> [Device Manager] from the Windows Control Panel, and right-click
'Unknown device' and click 'Updated Driver...'.
(3) When the 'Please choose your search and installation options.
' window is displayed, select 'Search for the best driver in these locations'.
Select 'Include this location in the search', specify 'EasysocketUSBdrivers' of the installation destination of MELSOFT,
and click the Next button.
When multiple MELSOFT products have been installed, specify the installation destination of the first product.
(a) When GX Developer has been installed first
Specify 'C:MELSECEasysocketUSBdrivers'.
(b) When GX Works2 has been installed first
Specify 'C:Program FilesMELSOFTEasySocketUSBDrivers'.
(c) When the 'USBDrivers' folder does not exist in the above folders (a) and (b)
Search for the 'USBDrivers' folder in File Explorer and check the location of the folder.
(4) When the window about the verification of compatibility is displayed in 'Hardware Installation',
click the Continue Anyway button.
We have checked the operation of a USB driver with Windows XP.
(Any problems do not occur after the installation of the USB driver.)
(5) When the 'Completing the Found New Hardware Wizard' window is displayed, click the Finish button.
[Precautions for installing a USB driver]
When you cannot install a USB driver, check the following settings of Windows.
When 'Block - Never install unsigned driver software' has been selected in
[Control Panel] -> [System Properties] -> [Hardware] -> [Driver Signing],
you may not be able to install a USB driver. Select 'Ignore - Install the software anyway and don't ask for my approval'
or 'Warn - Prompt me each time to choose an action' in [Driver Signing] and install a USB driver.
